Dr Joideep Banerjee holds a PhD in Machine Learning and Deep Learning for Digital Forensics from the University of Staffordshire, completed on a full merit-based scholarship, along with two Master's degrees from Staffordshire and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute. This provides him with a strong interdisciplinary foundation across machine learning, AI, and advanced statistics, applied in practice across manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and metal industries.

He is a holder of the highly competitive and globally recognized UK Global Talent Visa under the Exceptional Promise route, officially endorsed by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE). This elite endorsement is reserved for only a select few emerging global leaders who demonstrate extraordinary research potential and exceptional talent in science and technology. Subjected to rigorous international peer review by leading authorities in the field, the RAE endorsement signifies a stamp of world-class excellence, validating his profound impact on academic research and technological innovation.

At Staffordshire University, he held key academic leadership roles, including Module Leader across Levels 4–7 and Course Leader for the Level 7 Digital & Technology Solutions Specialist Apprenticeship, supporting degree apprentices from major organizations such as BT, the NHS, and Capula. He also served as the academic and research lead on four industry partner projects under the university's Advanced and Digital Technologies Innovation Accelerator programme—all delivered successfully, with two progressing to Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funding applications and another contributing to an EIC Pathfinder 2025 proposal.

An active contributor to the global research community, Dr Banerjee is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and a Professional Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS). His technical focus spans machine learning, deep learning, feature selection, transfer learning, anomaly detection, network security, and digital forensics.
